1878 OUTGOING MAIL TO FINLAND: Envelope (with full contents !) from fieldpost department no.4
- blue cds “POLEVOE POCHT. OTDYEPENIE .4. 7.5.78” (which at this point was already in Silistra)
written by the Commander of the 130th Cherson Regiments of the Danube army (the inside letter he
had written in Rustchuk 7/19.5.), it went as usual via SPB (15./16.5) to Helsingfors, the letter itself is
written in (not perfect) Swedish, a rare item.

1877-96, Miscellaneous but interesting lot : 2 scarce ppc’s and 1 photocopy of ppc showing battle
scenes of Trastenik (Cavalry), Chipka-Cheinova and Pleven battle (copy) + 4 sample imprints from
archives of the Russian postmarks used in Bulgaria (Orhane, Stanimaka, Kavakli & Ruschuk) and 2
better covers of 9th issue & mixed 6th + 7th issue (= local registered miniature cover), mixed to v.fine.

1843-1871 Turkish Post in Bulgaria, sixteen pages from exhibition collection documenting the
foundation of the Turkish Post in Bulgaria. Beginning with 1843 money order from Vidin to Lot of 40.000
kurus (one of the highest recorded amounts in Bulgarian philately), 1857 Edina to Filibe with Arabic
negative Andrianople Post Office, several other letters with Arabic negative markings with analysis.
1859 Sofia-Constantinople with Arabic registration stamp, 1847 Tarnovo-Constantinople with Tirnova
negative. Three postal receipts with negative stamps of sending and receiving POs. 1862 Rustschuk to
Constantinople with scarce Rusuk stamp. 1879 telegram Pera to Varna. A very rich group of material in
very fine condition and with valuable analysis. Most letters with certificates.

analysis. Official letter Rustschuk to Governor of Vidin with the required official handstamps. Sumnu-
Constantinople with small Arabic official correspondence stamp. Also Lovetsch-Tarniovo and letter to
Vidin district administration. All letters with certificate.
