1850 Sydney View collection of 21 singles, 1 cover, 4 pairs and a strip of three, each with large margins
and many better shades, types and cancels. Almost every stamp comes with a certificate and a note
where purchased (between 1981 and 2005). We note 1d reddish rose SG 3 pl. 1 pair (no clouds); cert.
Holcombe, 1d SG 5 in strip of 3, SG 7 and SG 10 gooseberry-red pairs with certs, 2d SG 15, SG 16ba
with variety ex Champion, SG 23 cancelled by Victoria Butterfly, SG 24c and SG41 on ship letter 1851
to Nottingham. A superb group, lovely quality and provenance.

1850 1d brownish red, Plate 2, re-engraved by Henry Jervis, horizontal pair, the right stamp displays
the variety “no clouds”, good margins on three sides, slightly cut into at the right side, centrally stamped
by a numeral obliterator. A very rare “se-tenant”, of which just a few are known; cert. Behr (2016).
