1948 Gandhi set of four with “SPECIMEN” overprints with the original Courvoisier presentation

booklet in black velvet with gilt-edged pages where the stamps were hinged, which were produced by

Courvoisier following the request of the Indian government and given to high ranking people. Less than

ten of those booklets are still known and this in fine condition with the original cellophane around. The

set with original gum and hinges. The highlight of any modern India and Gandhi collection.

1961 SWAMI VIVEKANANDA Original artwork for stamps made by Mr Pradhan who worked at De La

Rue, London office for Indian stamps. Even after end of British rule in India the Indian Security Press at

Nasik regularly met with De la Rue officials for artist feedback and idea sharing. This artwork originated

during those meetings and shows the fine line drawing of SWAMI VIVEKANANDA signed Pradhan,

1961. The design was used in the 1963 (SG464) stamp of India . The original archival artwork, in black

ink on a scratch board, measures 205x272mm. A must for any India collector and a perfect exhibition

showpiece. UNIQUE item.

1963 ASHOK STAMBHA Original artwork for stamps made by Mr Pradhan who worked at De La Rue,
