1888-1946 Travancore – Comprehensive and Research-Oriented Collection A remarkable Travancore
collection presented on well-crafted album pages, featuring both unused and used examples of nearly
all issues, including Service stamps. This is far beyond a typical accumulation — an exhibit-quality
holding enriched by original research on unlisted errors (e.g., Travancope, Travancoore varieties),
inverted watermarks, perforation and overprint varieties (including inverted types), and numerous large
multiples. Also included are three small stockbooks devoted to a town cancellation study, together with
specialized literature, articles, and a reference book on the stamps and postal history of Travancore.
The album showcases stunning pages with large blocks, part and complete sheets, several showing
gutter pairs and strips.
The postal history and stationery section is equally impressive, containing many registered covers and
well-preserved usages. Altogether, this is a rewarding and visually outstanding collection, an ideal
foundation for a specialist or an excellent starting point for developing an exhibition-level display. Very
fine to superb throughout, a rare opportunity (S.G. £12,000++)
