1913 Waterlow £1 yellowish green (deep shade) paper trial (often mistakenly referred to as a colour
trial) on gummed ‘Joynson Paper’ watermarked single cypher, the paper originally intended for this
issue but rejected on account of a tendency for the ink to spread along the paper fibres, overprinted
“CANCELLED” type 24, fine mint NH. Rare.
