Kushanas, Kanishka III, c. 267-270, AV dinar, 7.63 g. (19 mm). Obverse: king standing facing, head left, sacrificing over
altar and holding staff; trident to left, ga in Brahmi to right of altar, Brahmi letters in right field, Bactrian inscription around.
Reverse: Ardoksho enthroned, facing, holding cornucopia and diadem, Bactrian inscription to right, tamgha left, within
dotted border. Please note that we tentatively attribute this coin to Kanishka III, but these coins remain notoriously hard
to identify (the website Coinindia.com notes „no coins have yet been definitively attributed to Kanishka III“). We rely on
research of the Chand collection conducted at the British Museum for identification of this coin.
