Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II, c. 380-413, AV dinar, 7.74 g. (18 mm). Obverse: Archer type, nimbate king wearing

tight cap with beaded lace and tailed tunic over loin cloth and leggings standing to left, of the Garuda standard only

the top is shown. Reverse: Goddess with halo sitting on a lotus, holding double-coiled diadem and resting left hand

on knee with long-stemmed lotus flower. Reverse legend srivikkramah. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class III, variety A.4.

Raven, CG2/Group 5.

VF+, a good, well-centred and detailed strike on an attractive small circular flan, flattening of high points on both

sides, design elements beautifully enhanced by light deposits. Ex Chand Collection British Museum no 1.12.06

headed king with layered curls looking left. Goddess with halo, with left hand resting on knee with lotus and diadem

VF, a pleasing coin with designs enhanced by darker deposits, flatness to high points; some minor edge scratches at

9 o’clock position. Ex Chand Collection British Museum no 1.13.22

with long intricate hair buns with no diadem visible, with long-tailed tunic over trousers. Goddess without halo,

with left hand resting on knee holding long-stemmed lotus flower and double-coiled diadem in right hand. Legend

śrīvikkramaḥ. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class III, A, 5, 1, 1. Raven, CG2/Group 8.

EF+, a very attractive coin with a sharply detailed rendition of the king obverse, with a series of flan cracks along the
