wearing a cap and a tunic over loin cloth, holding the bow in his left hand, right leg lifted up on a beaded support, and

firing an arrow at the lion to the right. Truncated Brahmi legend around narendracandraḥ prathitaraṇo raṇe jayatyajeyo

bhuvi siṅhavikramaḥ (the moon among the kings, who is famous for his warfare, who is invincible, and who is valorous like

a lion, is victorious on the battlefield) Reverse: nimbate Lakshmi sitting facing on a reclining lion, her right foot resting on

the neck of the lion and the left foot somewhat pendant, holding a diadem in her raised right hand, and a cornucopia in

left; tamgha to left, Brahmi legend to right sinhavikramah. Kumar, TOTGE 2024, Class III, variety A1.2. Raven, CG2/group 1.

A wonderfully dramatic coin of the famous lion-slayer design and a scarce variant.

A scarce, important, and probably early variant that shows traces of a beaded backrest on reverse top left and in right

field close to the legend.

to the right, lion falls backward. Truncated Brahmi legend around. Reverse: Lakshmi sitting with folded legs to front

on a reclining lion facing to the left, her right knee resting on the neck of the lion and the right leg slightly pendant,

holding a diadem in her right hand and a lotus flower in left; tamgha to left, Brahmi legend to right sinhavikkramah.
