1840 V.R. Officials 1d black FA-FB pair, “used” for cancellation trial removal experiments by Rowland
Hill, showing traces of the red Maltese cross, large margins on three sides (just touched at upper left
corner), a fine and very rare multiple with only six pairs recorded used for the official cancellation trials
according to Karl Louis (S.G. £45’000 as two singles, unpriced as a pair).
