1841 2d blue pl.3 strip of 12 TA-TL, used on small piece, postmarked ‘barred’ numerals 17 of London
chief office, some values at top just touched or cut in margin, TA and TG with crease but due to the very
large multiple some faults have to be accepted, at bottom large to very large margins due to the sheet
margin, overall in fine to very fine condition for this enormous multiple; cert. Louis; ex Robson Lowe
auction Oct., 1965.

1841 2d blue pl.4 KH overprinted “SPECIMEN” type 1, with four good to large margins, mint part o.g.,
small printing flaw on Queen’s neck, small surface scrape, still a fine example and very rare example
of the specimen overprint on plate 4; cert. BPA (2012) and Provenance Certificate Karl Louis (2012)
which states that only five examples are known; ex Marcus Samuel which stated that only two were
in private hands (S.G. from £5’500).
